Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: May 19, 2026

1. Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy (the "Policy") forms part of the Terms of Service and applies to everyone who calls the API, uses the console, or otherwise accesses WanAPIs (the "Service").

The Service is an independently operated LLM API gateway. It does not build models; it routes requests to upstream providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and DeepSeek. When you use the Service you must comply both with this Policy and with the usage policy of whichever upstream provider serves your request.

2. Prohibited uses

You must not use the Service to carry out, assist or encourage any of the following, directly or indirectly:

(1) Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): generating, requesting or distributing any sexualised content involving minors. We have zero tolerance for this and will report it to the competent authorities as required by law;

(2) Pornographic and adult content (NSFW): generating or distributing sexually explicit material;

(3) Violence, terrorism and self-harm: content that promotes or instructs violence, terrorist activity, weapons manufacture, suicide or self-harm;

(4) Hate and harassment: hate speech, discrimination, personal harassment or doxxing based on race, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability or similar characteristics;

(5) Unlawful activity: anything that breaks the law in your jurisdiction or in the People's Republic of China, including drugs, weapons, money laundering, fraud and gambling;

(6) Fraud and deception: fake news, deepfakes, impersonation, academic cheating, spam and phishing;

(7) Network attacks: credential stuffing, scanning, exploitation, malware, DDoS, or unauthorised access to any system;

(8) Privacy violations: collecting, processing or disclosing other people's personal or sensitive data without authorisation;

(9) Fully automated decisions in high-risk settings without human review: medical diagnosis, legal advice, financial investment, critical-infrastructure control and the like;

(10) Abuse and arbitrage: scripting around rate limits, billing or anti-abuse mechanisms; reselling or sublicensing API keys; or white-labelling the Service to third parties without written authorisation.

3. Upstream provider terms flow through

You understand and agree that every request you send through the Service is ultimately processed by a third-party upstream provider. You must comply with those providers' terms and usage policies, including but not limited to:

(1) the OpenAI Usage Policies;

(2) the Anthropic Usage Policy / Acceptable Use Policy;

(3) the Google (Gemini) Prohibited Use Policy;

(4) the policy of whichever other provider serves the model you select.

You may not use the Service to circumvent an upstream provider's abuse detection, geographic restrictions or rate limits, nor to train, distil or reverse-engineer any model competing with them. Account termination, legal liability or third-party claims resulting from your breach of upstream terms are your own responsibility, and you shall indemnify the Service for any loss so caused.

4. Moderation and enforcement

The Service is primarily a text-inference gateway and does not proactively store or manually review your request content (see the Privacy Policy). However, on receiving a complaint or an upstream alert, or on detecting signals of abuse, we may:

(1) suspend or terminate the account concerned immediately and without prior notice;

(2) retain the request summaries necessary for investigation and for cooperating with law enforcement;

(3) disclose relevant information to upstream providers, payment processors and judicial or administrative authorities;

(4) seek compensation from you for losses caused by the breach.

Balances on accounts terminated for breach are not refunded (see the Refund Policy).

5. Reporting and contact

If you become aware of anyone abusing the Service, or believe some output breaches this Policy, email [email protected] with "Abuse report" in the subject line and, where possible, the request ID, timestamp and a description. We act promptly once verified.

We may update this Policy at any time. Material changes are notified in advance to your registered email address; minor adjustments are reflected in the "Last updated" date on this page.

For abuse reports or policy questions, email [email protected].
